Quick Update / Nearing The Grand Finale!
Hello, There have been two points tournaments since our last update, so I'm sorry for the lateness. I won't have my normal recap up but I wanted to update the site so everyone can see the latest rankings.
Congrats go out to Steve Felter and Austin P. for winning Spring Fling. They took home the top prize out of a huge field of 90 teams. In addition, Steve Felter won again this weekend at the Suncoast BBQ Bash, this time teaming up with Chris Cuccia.
After his great two week run, Steve F. has now moved up to 2nd place in the rankings and has a great chance to be the first person in months to pass Darryl atop the rankings and grab that #1 seed going into our championship tournament.
There are only going to be two more points events before the season ending Top Bay Tosser singles tourney. The next of which is June 9th at Tampa Bay Club Sport's Sand Blast at Crabby Bills. The other will be in July with details on that tournament to be announced soon. For those of you not firmly in the Top 24 you will want to make sure to place as high as possible in these events. Lucky for you there are a ton of tourneys in May that you can go to in order to get better and be ready to move up the rankings!
BagBoards.net 4th Annual Gator Toss Recap
BagBoards.net hosted 43 teams for their 4th annual Gator Toss. There was tons of great competition as the teams had to battle each other and the strong winds. At the end of the day, Steve and Austin of Cornslingers won their 2nd straight tournament, as they took out the up-and-coming team of Brandon P. and John (Crushed Corn).
The competition is getting tougher out there and we have some new names making splashes in the area tournaments. Congrats go out to John of Crushed Corn, Brian Z and Dave W, Robert D. and Tommy (Chumlee's 2) and John M. and Chet B. (MacNeal's Corn) for getting their first entries in to our rankings. That's right folks 7 of the Top 16 spots were taken by new players looking to move up the rankings.
With all the new additions to the rankings, the top of the leaderboard did not change too much. Darryl is still #1, Cole M. moved into the Top 5. Austin R. moved into the Top 10, and Brandon P. and John (Crushed Corn) made the big movse this week to jump into the Top 24 (which is where you want to be for the free auto-bid to the season ending tournament.) Unfortunately that means Andrew H. and Rick K. fell out of the Top 24, but who knows. This could all change again after the next points tourney. Speaking of...
The next points-eligible tournament will be Cornhole for a Cause at the St. Pete Times Forum on March 31st.. Click here for more information on this great event .
